Tony Marino, the founder of San Marino, came to Australia in 1960 and worked as a butcher and restauranteur before entering the meat and smallgoods processing industry in 1967. He purchased the South Australian business in 1975 with a loan from the original owner and by working non-stop, paid back the debt in 6 months. In 1984 he bought out his partner and renamed the business San Marino.

San Marino Smallgoods has received numerous awards for their quality products and is a supplier to large public events like the Australian Formula 1 Gran Prix. San Marino products have become world famous for their exceptional quality and flavour.
